How? I Apply the Fragrance

3 to 5 sprays

Amber Teutonic Notes Alpine cedar, cardamom, green mandarin, geranium, European larch, templin cone, pine, opoponax, musk Wow it’s green mandarin on top of what I feel is a patchouli type musk. Patchouli is not listed as a note, but to me feels like it’s there in a subtle way. A brand new feel of forest is here I’m very used to Evergreen and Pine, but this is exotic with those notes. The forest that I’m used to has a little color and jungle edge to it. A slight Oriental Fougere with a whisper of Gourmand. This is just dipping and picking into each of the fragrance families as to say I’m here and at one turn she’s gone and you go chasing. A playful game of hide and seek with this beauty. Glimpses of smiles and sweet breath await at every whiff. The mid A blend of Amber and Incense musk sits down and blends into a nice sniff. A little candy sweetness to it. Getting a citrus come through on the drydown which is weird

  1. SOTD- sampling Fan Your Flames by Nishane. Really like it probably gonna pull the trigger on a bottle soon.

Love D.S. & Durga man, Cowboy Grass is my first niche love. I put a spray of Amber Teutonic on at the store and liked it and know I need to spend more time with it. It’s strange that they have been in Barney’s for years, a huge list of niche shops for years yet very little talk of them on YouTube. Hats off to you for seeking stuff out of the spotlight on here.

    1. Oooh I have been wanting to get a bottle of Nishane, just haven't been able to give the house proper attention yet. Yeah the D.S. & Durga caught me off guard. Very well thought out notes to offer very contemporary twists to amber.

    2. That is a very loaded question. I started out with Perfumers Apprentice and went to town. Currently I am hunting down specific notes like Patchoulli you will see in my videos for next couple of weeks. I am now at 5 companies that I am picking one based on what I am going for and volume available. Basically I will show companies on this channel that are very good like Ensar and Feel-Oud. I haven't found an economic oud as of yet everyone I have tried is not on par with the mentioned houses. I will share when I find for sure, I believe on making the people succesful I use also. Not sure where you are at, but UK has a really nice place to start as well Pell wall. I personally don't know just have heard a few places on videos and research.

    3. Didn’t mean for it to be loaded at all. Just looking for recs on where to by small quantities of materials to develop my knowledge of notes and ingredients. I have no interest in Oud at the moment, maybe in the future. I’m in the US.

I think in a past video or comment you said you have sensitivity to certain synthetics and were trying to pin down which ones they were by buying synthetics. I’ve browsed perfumers apprentice before I’ll start there. Looking forward to the patchouli discussion

    4. Definitely when you get into particular ingredients let me know and I will point you to where I am at if I have researched that one. Fully I have only gotten into 4 in depth and each of the 4 I can't get from one place for the profiles of the note I am trying to achieve.

  2. Wearing Tinsukia by Imperial Oud. What a great Hindi! I grabbed a bunch of DS&D samples when I grabbed a bottle from Luckyscent recently. Amber Kiso wasn’t for me, but Bowmakers was interesting. Still have many more to try.

    1. Will you have quite the fragrance arsenal. Nice Hindi is a power house. I only tried Amber Kiso and this one, I will start digging in more I really like what this house is doing. Admittedly the branding through me off a bit, but it's all about the juice.

  3. Awesome review. I agree a great fragrance.. just sampled this and it is to die for. Keep up the good work. PS the rating on Fragrantica is low and deserves a higher score 5

  4. Really hope to try more from this brand, this and Rose Atlantic are on my list!!! Living in the Pacific North West, the notes stood out as you mentioned, and seemed like a must have for my collection! I did want to mention, the area you are mentioning does exist!! As in the outskirts of Port Angeles, we indeed have rain wood forests such as, "The Hoe" with evergreen and pine! 😀 Most def on of the most beautiful places on Earth! The Olympic mountains bordering the town creating the infamous, "Banana Belt" around the area! Well worth researching and seeing one day!!!
Thanks for bringing this review to us! My SOTD is Orca by House of Matriarch on this breezy sunny day! Cheers from my neck of the woods!!

    1. I love Orca and am also in the PNW.(Portland area). I have only been to the Olympic rain forest once. Did not know that. It was when I really didn't hike much due to heavy allergies and what not. I am an avid hiker cyclist now and have been dying to get up there. To many distractions closer, but the Olympic forest is one of the most unnoticed places on earth IMO.

Thanks for letting me know a little bit about yourself.

    2. HOM is most definately an underrated house, considering they use ~98(+)%natural ingredients. I understand the allergies,@Therapeutic Fragrance! ;P
I am glad someone else understands how beautiful this area is!! I feel truly blessed to be here!!. Small world though, I was born in Portlamd, OR. We are not that far from each other!
Maybe one day, we can plan a collab video!! Cheers!
